Terms of use

The terms that apply when you use NZ Webz or list a website with us. Last updated 26 October 2026.

1. About these terms

NZ Webz (nzwebz.co.nz) is an independent New Zealand website directory. By using the site or submitting a listing, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Listings

  • Anyone can submit a New Zealand website. Every submission is reviewed by a person against our editorial policy before it is published.
  • Submitting a listing does not guarantee approval. We may edit listings for accuracy and clarity, and we may reject, suspend or remove a listing that is inaccurate, misleading, offline, unsafe or against our policies.
  • You must have the right to list the website, and the details you give must be true. You are responsible for keeping your listing accurate.
  • You give us permission to display the information, logo and images you submit on NZ Webz for as long as the listing is live.

3. Plans and payment

  • Free listings cost nothing. Paid plans (Verified $49 and Premium $99, in NZD) are billed yearly through PayPal when you submit your listing.
  • Paid features are switched on when your listing is approved. If your website is not approved, we refund your payment in full.
  • Paid plans renew each year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your PayPal account or by emailing us. If you cancel, your listing stays live on the Free plan at the end of the paid year.
  • We may change prices or plan features. Changes apply from your next renewal, and we will tell you before then.

4. What paid plans do and do not include

Paid plans change how and where your listing appears on NZ Webz. They do not buy approval, and they do not guarantee search engine rankings, traffic, leads or sales. Links from paid listings carry rel="sponsored" and links from free listings carry rel="ugc", in line with Google's guidelines.

5. Content we do not accept

Spam, scams, copied content, misleading claims, illegal content, adult content, gambling, and websites that do not operate in New Zealand.

6. Using the directory

Listings describe third-party websites. We check that each website is real and honest at the time of review, but we do not endorse any business or guarantee the quality of its goods or services. Please make your own enquiries before you buy.

7. Your rights under New Zealand law

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where those Acts apply. If you list a website for the purposes of a business, you agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply, to the extent the law allows.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, NZ Webz is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or of any listed website. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months.

How we handle personal information is explained in our privacy policy.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.
